The television landscape has been turned upside down in recent years thanks to different options in how we consume entertainment. Cable and satellite providers are far from the only choice when it comes to watching television, movies and sports, and Amazon's Fire TV platform has been at the forefront of internet-delivered programming and the idea of cord-cutting.
What is Amazon Fire TV? It's a platform similar to Apple TV, Chromecast, and Roku that utilizes software and a device that can stream movies and TV shows from Amazon Prime Video, play music, act as a gaming console, and give users access to different television networks and applications.
Amazon Fire TV has a huge selection of channels to choose from. Netflix is probably their most-watched app and has become a standard in living rooms. Hulu, a more TV show-focused channel is also available on Fire TV. And of course, the Amazon Prime Video app provides access to an entire library of free content to subscribers. The channel lineup also includes internet favorites such as Spotify, YouTube, and Vudu, to name a few. For premium networks, Fire TV supports popular networks such as CBS All Access, HBO and Showtime (as well as their over-the-top services SHOWTIME and HBO Now that don't require a TV service subscription).
